These are the 4 standard types of care. Carers in Private Care Dorchester’s Care Community will be able to tailor-make your care according to your care needs.

Hourly Care means a Carer will come to you at a pre-determined time of day and attend to your needs. This might be just one visit per day, or if your needs are greater, this could be up to 4 calls per day.

Live-In Care is when a Carer comes to your home and lives with you for a length of time. This could be for a week or two, or longer, depending on you. This type of Carer could be expected to be on your premises for up to 21 hours per day and on duty for 8-10 hours each day. This type of Carer would need a 3 hour break each day, at a mutually convenient time and would sleep on your premises.

Overnight care is for those times when you feel the need to have a Carer in your home overnight. Usually from 9 or 10pm to 7 or 8am.

Respite care could be if your usual Carer is away on holiday or if your family member who usually looks after you is in need of a break. This type of care is viewed as short term relief for your usual Carer. Respite care could be for a few hours, a few days or a few weeks.
